Mission

The Ben Jonson Pub CIC mission is to acquire and run the Ben Jonson Pub in Weston on the Green and thereby provide a place to meet, socialise, eat and drink for the residents of Weston on the Green, the surrounding communities and those travelling through the area, and thereby protect the grade II listed building as a village pub and restaurant. 

The initial objective is to raise sufficient funding in order to: 

• Purchase the Freehold of the Ben Jonson pub. 

• Invest in the necessary fixtures, fittings, furniture and working capital to establish a viable business. 

• Establish an initial program of required repairs and maintenance to the building and site. 

The goals against which success will be measured are: 

1. Create and maintain a thriving pub in the heart of the community 

2. Generate sufficient profitability and liquidity to: 

   1. maintain and over time improve the fabric of the aged grade II listed building and site for the benefit of the local community. 

   2. enable the payment of interest on any required debt funding arrangements. 

3. Make the refinancing of debt at the end of the term an attractive and viable proposition.

Company Ownership / Legal Entity

A Community Interest Company registered at Companies House as Ben Jonson Pub CIC has been formed. The company was incorporated in England and Wales on 12th February 2021 as a private company limited by shares with company number 13197944.
